Causes of Hair Loss:

There are many causes of scalp hair loss, and they do differ in men and women. This article will cover the common ones. Studies show that losing up to 100-150 hairs per day is normal. Human hair naturally grows in three phases: anagen, catagen, and telogen. Anagen is the active or growing phase. Catagen is a fairly short phase of the natural hair cycle during which hairs begin to break down. Telogen is the resting phase. The hairs that are shed daily are often in the resting or late phase in the hair cycle. Normally, about 10% of the scalp hairs are in the resting or telogen phase at any time. These hairs are not growing and are getting prepared for cyclic shedding.

In general, most hair loss is not associated with systemic or internal disease, nor is poor diet a frequent factor. Frequently, hair may simply thin as a result of predetermined genetic factors, family history, and the overall aging process. Many men and women may notice a mild and often normal physiologic thinning of hair starting in their thirties and forties. Other times, normal life variations including temporary severe stress, nutritional changes, and hormonal changes like those in pregnancy, puberty, andmenopause may cause a reversible hair loss.

Most of us eventually notice some slowed thinking  and problems remembering certain things. However, serious memory loss, confusion, and other major changes in the way our minds work are not a typical part of aging.
Many conditions can disrupt memory and mental function. Symptoms may improve when the
underlying cause is treated.
Contact the Alzheimer’s Association if you need assistance finding a doctor with experience
evaluating memory problems.
Possible causes of memory problems include:
Depression
Medication side effects
Excess alcohol use
Thyroid problems
Poor diet
Vitamin deficiencies
Certain infections
Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias

Anyone experiencing significant memory problems should see a doctor as soon as possible.

Methods for early diagnosis are improving dramatically, and treatment options and sources of support can improve quality of life.
An early diagnosis helps individuals receive treatment for symptoms and gain access to programs and support services. It may also allow them to take part in decisions about care, living arrangements, money and legal matters.

Arthritis:
The word arthritis comes from the Greek arthron meaning "joint" and the Latin itis meaning "inflammation". The plural of arthritis is arthritides.

Arthritis is not a single disease - it is a term that covers over 100 medical conditions. Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis and generally affects elderly patients. Some forms of arthritis can affect people at a very early age.

What causes arthritis?

INFLAMMED JOINT

In order to better understand what is going on when a person suffers from some form of arthritis, let us look at how a join Basically, a joint is where one bone moves on another bone. Ligaments hold the two bones together. The ligaments are like elastic bands, while they keep the bones in place your muscles relax or contract to make the joint move.

Cartilage covers the bone surface to stop the two bones from rubbing directly against each other. The covering of cartilage allows the joint to work smoothly and painlessly.

A capsule surrounds the joint. The space within the joint - the joint cavity - has synovial fluid. Synovial fluid nourishes the joint and the cartilage. The synovial fluid is produced by the synovium (synovial membrane) which lines the joint cavity.

If you have arthritis something goes wrong with the joint(s). What goes wrong depends on what type of arthritis you have. It could be that the cartilage is wearing away, a lack of fluid, autoimmunity (your body attacking itself), infection, or a combination of many factors works.

Home Remedies for Toothache

TOOTHACHE

No Toothache Now:

Salt Water:

Mix a heaping tablespoon full of salt in a small glass of warm water; swirl around inside your mouth for as long as you can, spit out. Repeat as needed.

Tea Tree Oil:

Just a drop or two will do the trick. You can also add some to a cotton swab and hold in place or add a few drops of tea tree oil to a small glass of lukewarm to warm water and rinse your mouth with it.

Oil Of Oregano:

Mix a few drops with a bit of olive oil, then saturate a cotton ball with mixture. Can replace the olive oil with lukewarm water if preferred.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Soak a cotton ball with apple cider vinegar (ACV) and hold it in place. Can also try regular household vinegar.

Ginger Root:

Take a fresh piece of ginger and chew it a bit.

Garlic:

Take a clove of garlic, smash it and apply (settle it inside cheek). You can also mash some garlic with salt.

Peppermint Leaves:

Chew on fresh peppermint leaves. You can also dried leaves, just hold them in place.

Potato: Cut a fresh piece of potato (raw, skin off) and hold in place. Can also pound a piece of raw potato, mix in a bit of salt and use the mash.

Onion:

Slice a piece of fresh onion and hold it inside your mouth. The onion needs to be freshly cut (so it provides a bit of onion juice).

Cucumber:

Slice a fresh piece of cucumber and hold it over the sore area. If refrigerated, you might want to bring the cucumber to room temperature before using (if sensitive to cold) otherwise a cool piece can be soothing. You can also mash a piece with a bit of salt and pack it around the sore tooth.

Cayenne Pepper:

Make a paste with cayenne pepper and water and use on that area.

Black Pepper:

You can use this full strength or make a mix of pepper and salt and use on that place

Cloves:
This is remedy from the old timers (my great grandparents), rest a clove against the sore area until pain goes away. You can also use a drop or two of clove oil (BE CAREFUL: too much can be toxic) or make a thick paste of ground cloves and water or ground cloves and olive oil.

Tea
Make a fresh cup of tea then take the used tea bag (still warm) and stick it in your mouth. Careful not to tear the bag. The tannins that are naturally in tea leaves can help numb things.

Home Remedies for Headache

Headache

Headache Home Remedies:

Drink plenty of water.

Dehydration can lead to a headache, especially if you've vomited recently or you're hungover. Drink a tall glass of water as soon as your head starts to hurt, and try to continue drinking small sips throughout the day. You should gradually feel the pain start to ease.

Find a quiet, dark place to take a break.

  • If you can, try to lie down and relax for at least 30 minutes. Shut the blinds, turn off the lights, and focus on your breathing.
  • Request absolute peace and quiet. If you're forced to rest around other people, explain that you have a headache and ask that they please try to be quiet and leave you undisturbed. Pre-emptively asking for cooperation can help you avoid an ugly interruption later. If you'd like, get some sleep or take a nap, but not too long though.
  • Adjust the room temperature. Some people can only relax in a cool room, while others prefer a large blanket or a space heater. Try to imitate whatever conditions work best for you when you go to sleep at night.
  • Avoid starting a fresh tension headache. Make sure your bed or couch is comfortable and that your head is supported in a position that doesn't increase the tension to your neck.
  • Wear an eye mask to block out the light.

Massage your scalp, neck and ear lobes.

  • Doing some light massage can distract you from the pain, as well as improving circulation and relieving tension. For a basic massage, gently press your fingers over your temples, and move them in slow circles. Or, try these more advanced techniques:
  • Do a scalp massage. Hop in the shower and treat yourself to a long scalp massage as you shampoo your hair. Or, for a drier version, pour a little bit of coconut or argan oil on your fingers and rub into your scalp.
  • Find two tennis or racquet balls and put them in a sock. Lie on a flat surface and place the two balls just below the base of your skull, on the occipital bone, and relax. You may feel sinus pressure or minimal discomfort at first but it will go away. This is especially helpful for sinus headaches.
  • Have someone else massage your neck and back if possible. The simple touch of someone else who cares about you can relieve a lot of tension instantly. Have them focus on the occipital region as well.
  • Gently massaging the bridge of your nose can help relieve sinus and migraine headaches.

Herbal Treatment:

Take 3g of Hyosymus seed powder and submerge it in water for the whole night. One cup of extract is used with 1 tea spoon of honey. It is an effective pain killer like Headache.
(2 times a day)

Home Remedies for Halitosis (Bad Smell)

BAD SMELL

HOME REMEDIES FOR HALITOSIS (BAD SMELL)

Baking soda.

Baking soda is a great way to clean your teeth and get fresh breath. For fresher breath, sprinkle some baking soda into your palm, dip a damp toothbrush into the baking soda, and brush.

Water.

Water is essential for fresher breath. Swish water around your mouth for at least 20 seconds to loosen food particles and clean your mouth. Water may even work as well as mouthwash in removing trapped food particles and keeping your breath fresh.

Fresh vegetables.

Fresh vegetables, such as carrots and celery, fight plaque and keep your breath smelling nice.

Cheese.

Cheese also fights plaque and mouth odor. Opt for a bit of low-fat cheese for a snack.

Aromatic spices.

Chewing on the seeds of aromatic spices such as clove, cardamom, or fennel after meals is a common practice in South Asia and the Middle East. The seeds of these spices contain antimicrobial properties that can help halt bad breath.

Bad breath may be a problem as old as time. But it doesn't have to ruin your time, as long as you follow some home remedies before or after your night on the town.

WHAT TO DO??

Keep your mouth clean: Brush thoroughly at least twice a day, and floss daily. Food and bacteria trapped between teeth and at the gum line can be removed only with floss; if it's left to linger, it's not going to smell nice. Periodontal disease can result in chronically bad breath.

Clean your tongue, too: Bacteria left on your tongue can contribute to less-than-fresh breath, so be sure to brush your tongue after you've polished your pearly whites.

Ditch your dentures: If you wear dentures, never wear them to sleep. Give them a thorough cleaning and leave them out until morning.

Wet your whistle: A dry mouth can equal smelly breath. Saliva helps clean your mouth; it has a natural antibacterial action and it washes away food particles. (Reduced saliva flow at night explains why your breath smells sour when you wake up in the morning.) Try sucking on sugarless mints to stimulate saliva production.

Don't stress out: Stress can dry out your mouth, causing bad breath.
Avoid potent foods. Garlic and onions, among other foods, contain sulfur compounds that move on to the lungs after they are absorbed in the bloodstream. Certain fish, such as anchovies, and seaweed are high in "fishy" amine odors. Unfortunately, during the move the chemicals that make these foods so tasty and pungent stick around. And they don't smell so great as you whisper sweet nothings into your sweetheart's ear.

Home Remedies For Dry Hands

Smooth Hands

Get Rid of Dry Hands:

Here are some proven remedies to treat dry skin of hands

Use Rose Water:

1) Take equal amounts of Rose Water (Arq-e-Gulaab) and Glycerine

2) Mix them throughly

3) Massage your hands with the solution

4) Continue the same practice for at least one week.

Use Honey:

1) Take two table spoon of Honey

2) Take two table spoon of Orange Juice

3) Mix them well

4) Massage your hands with the above formulation

5) Continue this practice for one week at least.

Causes of Dry Skin:

1. Winter Weather

When the temperature drops, the humidity level plunges too. Dry air leaves skin parched. "Once the weather starts to change, I see patients coming in complaining of dry, itchy skin," says Linda Stein Gold, MD, clinical research director for the dermatology department at Detroit's Henry Ford Hospital.

Turning up the thermostat doesn't help, either. Indoor heating strips even more moisture from the air -- and your skin.

2. Steamy Showers

Setting the shower to steamy soothes your body, but it won't do your skin any favors. "I know it feels wonderful to stand in a really hot shower... but it can dry out the natural oils in our skin more quickly," Stein Gold says.

Standing under that hot spray long enough to belt out your favorite tune is also a no-no. The longer you linger in the shower, the more you dry out your skin.

3. Moisture-Robbing Soaps

Don't put just any bar of soap into your shower dish -- they're not all the same. Wash with a harsh soap and you'll send your skin's natural moisture barrier straight down the drain.

4. The Rub-Down

Think you need to scrub your skin to get it clean? Toss that old notion, along with your scrubby sponge.

"Friction strips the skin and enhances the dryness," says Nanette Silverberg, MD, a dermatology professor at Columbia University.

5. Losing Shower Moisture

Showering bathes your skin in moisture. Scrubbing off with a towel right afterward strips that moisture away. "The surface of your skin absorbs some of the water, which will be lost if you don't seal it in," Silverberg says
